GY-LS300 success stories from Turkey

“JVC’s innovative 2K/4K camcorder GY-LS300 is starting to be very popular in Turkey,” says Ismet Bozkurt, JVC Sales Manager, South/East Europe. Albert Fresko, Managing Director at JVC Professional’s distribution partner, NEFAN, is pleased about the delivery of the first two camcorders, destined for his customers, STÜDYO 24 SAAT and PLATO YAPIM. Ismet Bozkurt explains: “In a country at the top end of television production, we always value customer feedback, and we have already had positive feedback from these two companies after using the cameras professionally. Their comments provide important information on quality, handling and possible applications for the new GY-LS300 camcorder.”

Istanbul production company, STÜDYO 24 SAAT, is well-known for its documentaries, and is amongst the first Turkish customers to be working with the GY-LS300. Its new camcorder, literally just out of the box, was called into action for a documentary movie. After the first shoot, executive producer, Ahmet Öcal, was enthusiastic about the result and felt certain that the selected 2K/4K camcorder was the right choice; especially after seeing JVC Product Manager Gustav Emrich’s product presentation at last year’s IBC show. Here, Gustav showcased the GY-LS300 handheld camcorder’s impressive image quality and its extensive professional features, including the large 4K Super 35mm CMOS sensor.

PLATO YAPIM, a film production company located in Ankara and a loyal JVC customer, chose the camera for the Micro Four Thirds lens mount, which enhances shooting flexibility and makes the realisation of movie effects easier. For them, the MFT lens mount offers the possibility to use a wide range of existing film and photo lenses, as well as adapters.

Having made a series of camcorder presentations at various production companies, feedback has been very positive, and JVC’s Sales Manager, Ismet Bozkurt, is confident of the camera’s prospects in Turkey.
