TV MIRAMAR invests in JVC live streaming camcordersTV MIRAMAR, a TV channel based in Mozambique, Africa, has recently purchased seven JVC Professional GY-HM650 camcorders, along with DT-X LCD monitors, wide angle adapters, carry bags and waterproof covers. They are using the new equipment for news and content production.
Their Technical Manager, Abchai Uane, explains why they selected these handheld cameras for their operations. “We chose the JVC GY-HM650 cameras as we were very interested in their video streaming and FTP capabilities,” he comments. “Before we had these cameras, we were dependent on cassettes for both filming and editing, but with the use of SDHC memory cards, this has really sped up our workflow.
“The cameras were very cost effective and have already given us wonderful results – our staff have said they are easy to use too,” Uane continues. “This all means we can pass the material through our editing systems very quickly and have it ready for broadcasting on time, which has transformed the way we work.”
